He also thanked the directors of the park for their work in improving the estate over the last 10 years, and looked forward to work with the Chairman and the HBP Manager in the future.
Our next event will be on Thursday 26th February 2015 at the Redbridge Cycle Centre – 8am – 10am

In November we added two electronic speeding signs to Fowler Rd, these are activated once any vehicle travels at 30mph, we have one on each side on the road to help reduce speeding vehicles and also remind drivers to be more cautious on a busy industrial area.
We will monitor and if required the HBP board will add further signs if they think it is necessary.

London Borough of Redbridge Green Business Awards 2014:
South East Electrical representative Mr. Sidney Osbourne received a Gold Award on behalf of his company at the Network event last week for his companies achievements in Environmental and Green practices , the award was presented by Cllr Robin Turbefield LBR.

On Thursday 20th Feb we held our spring Network event at the cycle centre in Forest Rd, we had 60 people in attendance, another well supported event, and thanks to all who gave their time.

We had the event sponsored by RB Services , Mr. Robin Bradley, who made a presentation regarding Health & safety matters, this was followed by Fire Officer Chris Young from the Hainault Watch in New North Road who made us all fully aware of the risks of fire and how they can ruin a business in minutes.
Officer Young informed the members that it is the intention of the Fire Station Officers to visit all businesses during 2014 to record information re chemicals items etc, which are on each premises in case of a major fire.

Also we were able to get HSE Inspector Stephen Hartley who made a presentation relating to many Health & Safety issues that most companies face , and how important it is to have all the necessary training and documentation in place.
Stephen also told us that the HSE can visit at any time and can enter any premises without making an appointment, he also went onto inform us that the HSE now charge a set figure per hour for their time whilst on site, which is completely separate to any findings or recommendations he might put in place. This can become very expensive for businesses , therefore he suggests that all companies keep up to date with their H&S policy etc.

RB Services are offering a FREE Health & Safety check to those who attended the meeting.
All business owners who attended the meeting each received a certificate on the day to indicate that they had received information on Fire & H&S training.

Other sponsors and businesses made brief presentations about their companies. Please check the HBP web site for any offers of FREE Training in 2014

The Autumn Network event will be on Thursday 30th October at the Cycle Centre. – AGM 15th May @ 9am Cycle Centre

January
Hainault Business Park Ltd launch its new ANPR CCTV System:

The members of the BID Board of Directors and their partners the London Borough of Redbridge and the Met Police held a Press Release on Friday 10th January at the premises of SECOM Plc the installation contractor.

News story and photograph appeared in the Ilford Recorder the following week:

The Leader of the Council Cllr Keith Prince attended along with Cllr Robin Turbefield and Cllr In Bond, the presentation was well received and performed in a professional manner by Keith Sharman the UK Sales Manager.

The ANPR system has been installed not only to help reduce crime and protect the businesses currently trading on the Park but also assist Met Police in criminal proceedings and benefit the local community as a deterrent against criminal activity.

Even during the trial periods in November and December the cameras have been able to assist in Police investigations, and also help in returning stolen property from a company in Fowler Road, so some early success is a very good sign for the future.

It was part of our BID Proposal document in 2011 to bring in this system to the Park as part of our ongoing security programme, but by working over a two year period with the LBR and our local MP Lee Scott we have been able to install this system over two years ahead of time, which we must thank the local authority for in providing the financial support to do so.
