A decade of progress…

Since 2006 Hainault Business Improvement District has done exactly that…progressed improvement throughout the business park, providing services, protection, improvements to safety, better promotion and marketing.

The list is endless on the improvements and enhancements the scheme has provided to the area over the past ten years.  This document will deliver that story through the number of testimonials provided by resident business park companies, stakeholders and supporters.

However, it doesn’t stop there. The next five years are just as important as the last ten have been and will concentrate on developing and growing the park into a major business destination in Redbridge, whilst maintaining the protection of the area, its businesses and their staffs.

The Future of the BID…
In 2024, HBP BID experienced several changes. In April, Robin Bradley joined the team, collaborating with Chris Wyles and Jim Ridley. Chris and Jim continued as consultants, utilizing their extensive knowledge, skills, and expertise. Chris is set to step back in January 2025, fully departing in April 2025, while Jim will remain until at least the Business Improvement District renewal vote, scheduled for November 2025.

Since his arrival in April, Robin has worked closely with London Borough of Redbridge staff and participated in discussions for the new LBR CEO. He regularly walks the estate, checking on defibrillators, reporting issues such as dumped rubbish, damaged fencing, and fly-tipping through the LBR reporting system.

Due to challenges with Police and Criminal Prosecution Services, CCTV has become increasingly important. LBR operates approximately 10 cameras on the estate, while HBP manages around 120. When incidents are reported, LBR reviews the footage, and HBP aims to supplement their records with CCTV records.

New signage, including color-coded road names, has been installed to help visitors navigate the estate. Health and safety training has been taken over by the owners of Mast Safety, who acquired RBServices, and will continue into 2025.

HBP has updated the tenants spreadsheet for the estate and we will be further updating the directory . The recent newsletter was readily accepted by all and many realised that a lot happens on HBP.

Looking ahead to 2025, Robin plans to foster a sense of community, promoting collaboration and support among residents. Networking events will commence in March, and the estate may celebrate the installation of fiber cable. Levy payers and tenants whose levies are paid by landlords will be invited to participate in efforts to grow their businesses. The BID renewal is scheduled for the end of November 2025.

A Voice for Business – a listening Board

Having Business Improvement District status on the business park is much more than projects, promotion and marketing. It provides businesses with a Board of unpaid Directors, who give freely of their time and expertise and speak on your behalf to government agencies, police and to the Council – and they speak with one voice – your voice.
