We also took the opportunity to hand out to all businesses attending our Draft BID Proposal with reference to our BID Reballot in 2011.
Iain Mackinnon form the Mackinnon Partnership had written the Draft Proposal document on the evidence produced by the “questionnaire” that 80 companies returned in July. The return from the members was indeed very high re a postal questionnaire , 59%.

New Legislation re CPC Driver Training – The HBP have offered to assist businesses with FREE training for drivers of vehicles over 3 and half ton who will require a Competent Persons Certificate by 2014.

We had a good response from members and are now organising two days this month and another two days in the autumn. All drivers who require this new certification will need to complete 5 individual modules over a 5 year period, this will equal 35 hours of training otherwise their licences will not meet the necessary DVLA requirements and they will not be able to operate legally. Those attending the courses this year will have two fifths of their training completed, another way the BID company is helping businesses through the current economic climate.

Each time you attend a course module your details are registered with VOSA
