The Government’s new Coronavirus business grant, designed to support the hospitality, leisure and accommodation sectors, is open for applications from Redbridge businesses.

The Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant scheme is aimed at businesses that offer in-person services and whose main activity takes place in a fixed, rate-paying premises.

The grant will comprise a one-off payment of up to £6,000 per premises.

Grants will be allocated as follows:

  • If a premises has a rateable value of £15,000 or below on 30 December 2021 the one-off grant will be £2,667.
  • If the rateable value is more than £15,000 and below £51,000 on 30 December 2021 the one-off grant will be £4,000.
  • If the rateable value is £51,000 or over on 30 December 2021 the one-off grant will be £6,000.

As with previous grant schemes, businesses will be required to satisfy the Council’s eligibility tests.

Only businesses on the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) rating list will qualify, and they must have been trading on 30 December 2021.

Businesses will be required to apply for these grants.
