Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) Guide
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has launched a guide to help businesses win contracts for the 2012 games. The guide advises suppliers on how to take part in the Olympic procurement process, including the qualifying and tendering procedures. It also explains the criteria and values, such as health and safety and sustainability, which the ODA will consider when evaluating bids. It is estimated that the ODA will manage 2,000 contracts directly.

A further 50,000 contracts will be awarded further down the supply chain. The ODA will launch a service in September aimed at helping SMEs identify these contracts, which includes publishing a list of its direct contractors on the London 2012 website. Morag Stuart, the ODA's head of procurement, said in a statement: "To achieve world-class business performance our procurement will be open, transparent and fair. This guide aims to help businesses of all sizes, from all over the UK, support the Games and potentially benefit from their success."

London 2012 online tendering package launched
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) today launched an online eTendering and planning package to help companies compete for up to 2,000 contracts throughout the delivery of the London 2012 Games.
As well as projects directly procured by the ODA, main venue contractors will be able to advertise supply chain contracts through the site. Firms will be able to look ahead at large-scale contracts in a "future opportunities" section of the London 2012 website. They can then tender for them online when contracts go live on the ODA’s eTendering website https://etenders.london2012.com.

ODA chief executive David Higgins said: “We want to ensure that businesses can see the opportunities in advance so they can prepare to bid. We also want to make the contracting process straightforward, consistent and simple.”

A further service will be launched this spring to support businesses, particularly those that are small and medium-sized, to access further opportunities to supply and subcontract to the ODA and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games' main contractors and their supply chain.
The latest Olympic contract was announced yesterday, with the ODA inviting expressions of interest for the phased design of the 3km public walkway that runs through the Olympic Park
